Music Monday: “Instant Karma” by John Lennon

With my mind on poems that feature stars, I found myself thinking also about songs that feature stars. This one came first to mind… as it probably should.

It is stating the obvious to say that John had a much better solo career than Paul. It is also stating the obvious to say that Yoko Ono may be the biggest poser in the history of popular culture. Try to figure out from this video: 1.) what knitting contributes musically to the song; 2.) why is she wearing medical padding and gauze over her eyes and forehead; 3.) if she missed her true calling, blind knitting.

It is a great song and a great way to start the week.

Enjoy!
