During the month of March, I have been on an H.G. Wells kick. I re-read The War of the Worlds and then The Invisible Man. I am currently working through The Island of Dr. Moreau. After my annual reading of Treasure Island in April, I may need to re-read The Time Machine.
I began yesterday to work back through my collection of baseball poems with an eye toward a third chapbook—this one on baseball. It seems like I have found a good rhythm this last 4–5 weeks, combing back through poetic drafts that have been collecting dust for years, in some cases decades. I might as well keep going as long as I have the interest and energy to do so.
I am hoping that the sunshine and warmer temps of April will continue their healing effects on my mood and outlook, and help cure some of the restlessness that I have been feeling these days. No doubt it will; certainly, it can’t hurt.
